To meet the above mentioned requirements to the optimum level first we needed a standard PDF template as the basis so that we can further customize the template as per the project requirements. We faced some challenges in incorporating data that are already saved in the system for filling up form fields. The challenge was the difficulty to access saved data records by the custom fields of the template.
By being incapable of accessing data straight from the saved data record we solved the problem by opting for the saved search. This allowed us to get the data for the required fields in the custom PDF template. Apart from this, our developers also carried out key calculative operations to garner precise results. We also tweaked the source code of the basic PDF template to create room for introducing changes. To tweak the source code for incorporating such changes, it is important for the client to have knowledge of HTML coding. To carry out this custom implementation successfully, the development team at VNMT took some references by accessing NetSuite Record Browser and became able to get the ids for fields and Sublist fields.
The results of our dedicated effort in customising the PDF template for introducing advanced fields was really awesome.
